For a T-shirt with the care label shown in this guide, the rules are simple: wash at up to 30 °C, do not bleach and do not iron. You can tumble dry it on low heat.

Before washing, check the label on your own garment. If its symbols are different, follow those instructions.

What the care symbols mean

– A wash tub marked 30: wash at a maximum temperature of 30 °C.

– A crossed-out triangle: do not bleach.

– A circle with one dot inside a square: tumble drying is allowed on low heat.

– A crossed-out iron: do not iron.

How to prepare your T-shirt for washing

Turn it inside out. Check that there are no items with open hook-and-loop fasteners, hooks or rough hardware in the same load. They can catch the fabric and cause snags.

It is best to wash clothing with hook-and-loop fasteners separately. Also separate any items that might bleed colour.

Which detergent should you use?

Choose a detergent suitable for synthetic fabrics and follow the dosage instructions on the packaging. Do not add bleach.

The maker of COOLMAX® fibre also recommends avoiding fabric softener. It can coat the fibres and reduce their ability to wick moisture. This advice supplements the instructions on the garment label. See the COOLMAX® care recommendations.

Drying and ironing

Take your T-shirt out after washing and gently reshape it. You can leave it to air dry. Do not place it on a hot radiator.

If you use a tumble dryer, select low heat. This is what the single dot in the tumble-drying symbol means.

A T-shirt with this label must not be ironed, even inside out. To reduce creasing, avoid leaving it crumpled for a long time after washing.

How to protect the fabric while wearing it

Keep exposed hook-and-loop fasteners on your gear from rubbing against the T-shirt. Try to avoid sharp edges and rough surfaces. If a loop of fabric gets pulled out, do not pull on it or cut it without checking how to repair it.
